ChaLuMu Featured in Hopezine: From Surviving to Supporting. The Story Behind Our Habit-Changing Jewellery

ChaLuMu was recently featured in Hopezine and of all the press we’ve had, this one felt especially close to home. Hopezine launched in November 2018 at an NHS suicide prevention conference at the Bet365 stadium, Hopezine aims to share stories from people who have survived adversity in all its forms to offer hope for all people with mental illnesses or disabilities.

Hopezine shared our story not as a product feature, but as a reflection of how lived experience, anxiety, trauma and recovery can shape something meaningful when you choose to use it to help others.

ChaLuMu didn’t come from a place of everything being perfect. It came from navigating some of the hardest chapters of our lives and realising that the tools we reached for to cope didn’t always serve us in the long run.

Between us, we’ve lived through anxiety, grief, illness, trauma and the habits that can form when you’re just trying to get through the day. We understand how easy it is for coping mechanisms to turn into something that feels hard to break away from, especially when anxiety is part of the picture.

For Natasha, stopping vaping was a turning point. What surprised her wasn’t just stepping away from nicotine, but how much the process highlighted the need for support that felt accessible, discreet and kind. Everything available either felt clinical, obvious or like something you’d want to hide.

So we decided to create what we couldn’t find.

ChaLuMu is jewellery designed to support people during anxious or challenging moments, without looking medical or making anyone feel judged. Pieces you actually want to wear. Pieces that feel beautiful, considered and empowering, not like a reminder of something you’re trying to “fix”.

Hopezine captured that belief perfectly. The feature focused on healing, rebuilding and the idea that support doesn’t have to be loud or complicated. That small, consistent choices can matter, and that having the right kind of support can make difficult moments feel more manageable.

Being featured in Hopezine meant a great deal to us because it reflected the heart of the brand. Not quick fixes. Not perfection. Just honest support, created from real experience, offered to others who might be navigating similar paths.
