Used regularly to help interrupt habits and reduce automatic cravings
Like millions of people across the UK, journalist Erica Crompton had been smoking for decades. At her worst, she was reaching for up to 40 cigarettes a day, despite repeated attempts to quit and growing concerns about her health.
Asthma attacks, dental problems and visible changes to her skin had become impossible to ignore. Doctors’ warnings were mounting, but like many long-term smokers, walking away from the habit felt far easier said than done.
Determined to try again, Erica decided to experiment with a different kind of support. Alongside other changes, she ordered a necklace she’d discovered online, something designed to interrupt the automatic habit of reaching for a cigarette.
Unlike most quitting aids she’d seen before, this one didn’t look medical or clinical. It looked like jewellery she would actually want to wear.
That necklace was a ChaLuMu Necklace.
“My dentist pulled three molars out this year and told me I’ll be ‘toothless by 50’ if I don’t stop smoking soon.”
Once Erica began wearing the necklace, what stood out immediately was how different it felt from other support tools she’d tried before. It didn’t look clinical or obvious, it looked like jewellery she was happy to wear as part of her day.
She used it consistently over the following weeks, reaching for it during moments she would usually light up without thinking, particularly later in the day when cravings had always been hardest for her.

ChaLuMu, real women, real results.
What surprised her most was how quickly she noticed a change. In a relatively short space of time, she managed to more than halve how many cigarettes she was smoking each day.
Just as importantly, she shared that she had no regrets about using it. The necklace didn’t end up unused or forgotten, it became part of her routine because it genuinely helped her stay focused on cutting down.
It also mattered that it didn’t feel medical or uncomfortable. Erica described it as something that felt beautiful to wear, jewellery first, support second.
“I thought I’d try quitting again, this time with another aid I’d discovered that suited my style-sensibilities.”
Commonly Reported Benefits
-
Fewer urges to reach for a cigarette or vape during the day
-
Feeling more in control during stressful or habitual moments
-
Reduced reliance on constant hand-to-mouth habits
-
Greater awareness of triggers and patterns around smoking or vaping
As the days went on, Erica found herself reaching for the necklace more in the afternoons and evenings, the times when cravings had always crept in quietly rather than all at once.
She described it as being a little like worry beads or a stress ball, something physical to hold and focus on when the urge to smoke surfaced. That small action helped interrupt the familiar hand-to-mouth habit she’d built up over decades.
Used this way, the necklace helped her slow things down in the moment and reset before another cigarette. It didn’t feel forced or clinical, it felt wearable, familiar, and supportive, something she was genuinely happy to keep using as part of her journey to cut down.
“A deep breath drawn and exhaled from the necklace relaxes me and puts me in the right frame of mind to beat another nicotine craving.”
