ChaLuMu Co-founders Natasha Makara and Megan Marlow invited to Latest TV to discuss their habit-changing jewellery

We were invited onto Latest TV to talk about ChaLuMu, where it began, and why we believe tools designed to support habit change should never have to look clinical or medical.

In conversation with Viktorija Faith, we shared the story behind the brand, not just what we make, but why we felt so strongly that something different was needed.

ChaLuMu was born from lived experience. Between us, we’ve navigated anxiety, smoking, vaping and the process of starting over when life takes an unexpected turn. Like so many people, we understood first-hand how deeply habits are tied to stress, coping and everyday overwhelm.

From the very beginning, our belief has been simple. Support tools shouldn’t feel embarrassing, obvious or clinical. They shouldn’t look like something you want to hide.

We wanted to create jewellery that people genuinely want to wear, pieces that feel beautiful, stylish and considered, while also offering meaningful support in the moments that usually lead straight back to old habits.

That conversation was also particularly poignant for me personally. I had lost my father just days before the interview, a man who dedicated his life to improving medical science and advancing care for premature babies. Sitting down to talk about purpose, science and creating something that genuinely helps others carried a deeper weight in that moment.

On the show, we talked about the thinking behind ChaLuMu and why beauty and wellbeing don’t have to be separate. The necklaces are designed to interrupt automatic habits and support change without gimmicks or quick fixes. Not as a promise of instant results, but as something people can return to consistently, something that fits into real life rather than disrupting it.

Being able to speak openly about this on Latest TV mattered to us. It gave us the space to explain why habit-changing jewellery exists and why it’s resonating with people who want support that feels discreet, wearable and empowering, not clinical or judgemental.

Appearing on Latest TV felt like an important moment for the brand. It allowed us to share our belief clearly, that support can be practical and purposeful, and still be beautiful.
